Last night I arrived home from work, and stoped at the village post box to post a letter. I then trod in the freshly laid cement where the post box was!!! My god some one has stolen our post box, I thought, But no, on further investigation the post office have taken it away as we only have 829 residents in the village, not enough to warrent a post box!
So now we have to get in our cars drive 3 miles to the next village to post a letter and 3 miles back. (great for the environment). What about the old folk who don't drive, are they expected to walk a 6 mile round trip. I could go on and on but I won't.......................
Maybe you could get a lift with the post van when it passes. He probably has to drive past the place where your post box was to get to the other village.
There are 829 of you and they've said you don't warrant a post box???!!! There are only 5 of us up here & we've got one - don't tell the Post Office though, please - they'll come & take it away....!
829 people is a big village, ask for it back. Theyt moved ours due to the old health and safety. What a pain. The problem wasn't the box it was the drivers driving too fast.
Hiya, horsestache - no, we haven't got a phone box nearby, but there is one up the mountain! You don't expect to find a phone box on top of a mountain, in the middle of nowhere, but I swear, it's there!!
