Hmmm, Just read this and the parents are whimpering about the sentences.
They have been to court and been found guilty.
Does anyone else think they should have just got a slapped wrist or is anyone else like me and think they deserved their sentences?

Lets hope that they start making examples out of others who break the law through petty crime and vandalism.

A 12 month community service orer specifically cleaning up graffiti would have been more apt and educational for the pair

Approximately a year in jail for 13, 000 pounds in damages, and only four years in jail for being drugged-up, crashing, and killing three passengers?!

If it's classed as criminal damage thats what they are put away for, it costs as much to make good whether its smashed up or painted on, these were not young kids but adults old enough to know better. and as for wanting to go to university, don't they need a few brains for that?

To me its art - criminal damage? the brightly coloured artistic murals that adorn our otherwise drab and shoddy looking railway bridges and embankments add a bit of sparkle and stlye. Its hardly akin to spraying 'Kevin is a w****r' or 'Pompey rule OK'. Local councils have even commissioned this type of urban art to brighten up depressing inner cities - its not criminal damage then is it? Look at the work of Banksy - thats how he got started.

I hate the sort of graffiti which is just 'Debbi luvs Bazza' written in felt tip. I've seen kids hanging round train and bus stops making their rubbishy felt tip pen marks before now and ended up arguing with them to not do it because it looks awful, but they probably just come right back as soon as I've jumped on my bus.

Spray painted arty graffiti can be really nice though. The ones who use that tend to be more serious, as it obviously costs more to buy the materials and they need to take the time to work out how much space they've got and what they can draw in that space.

I've seen some amazing murals and can only wish my best to the artists that created them.

I've no knowledge of this particular case, though. Were they persistently graffiti-ing the same property, or writing inflammatory stuff or something?
