I heard on the news earlier that the McCanns were using a large sum of the fund for campaigning. Though didn't hear Max Cliffords name. I thought he was just used for celebs (and wannabe celebs)

Using him would be the worst thing they could do.

Also read on a thread that apparently Kate MCCan rang sky news before the police when she noticed Madeleine had gone. Did anyone else read of this?

I disagree with Ethel that Maddy's case is front page news everyday regardless. Except for the sensational stuff going on in the last week, with her mum and dad now being made suspects in her disappearance, she'd have dropped of the news radar ages ago except for the determination of her parents and the publicity campaign they've initiated. Long may it continue. Apart from hopefully finding Maddy, it has highlighted the dangers all children can face and made parents more aware.

I think ethel is right, she is in the headlines all the time, her face is always accompanying various stories, I think the mccanns are using the money because they cant spend it on themselves. Also they are probably ready to go touring again as there is so much of the world they need to see

and yes it does highlight child safety, but then again I am not the type of parent who would refuse a free baby sitting service and leave my patio doors wide open whilst I go off for a meal

Being a PR with his own company, he leaks or sells stories to papers.
Also, he has been know to do a couple of stories for free, but as critics will tell you, he tells everyone about it! Our unsung hero. NOT!
