The Lib Dems want to "hammer" couples who earn over 70k and single workers who earn more than 46k.

Well that's a sure fire vote winner isn't it?

It's not even worth mentioning because they are never going to win an election in out lifetime lol
He can't even pronounce his own name properly, like anyone will ever vote for him anyway?

Just off to John Mingies for a paper...
What was that about his name Joggy?
LOL, Cheeky! :o)
He prounounces it mengis doesnt he?

Old to55er
If he does ever get voted in do you think he'll insist on being referred to as the Emperor Ming? He might get my vote if that's the case.
Ah, but hang on - if there's a hung parliament at the next election, the Lib Dems would hold the balance of power, and could easily form a pact with one of the other parties.

If that happened, then they could easily use their position to shoehorn in some of their policies.

They don't need to win the election to get into power, if you see what I mean.
I don't mind.
At least he is English and would be a welcome change, from all those Scots.
Tell me you're joking.
What sort of swing do we need to have a hung parliament?

Ive got a feeling that it would be a massive one the likes of which we have nevewr seen before but I'm sure someone will correct me
If you think about it for a second Rev I'm sure you'll see that the swing required for a hung parliament is a little less than the swing required for a Tory victory.

So yes totally improbable
So not worth worrying about.

Like I said lol
Just thought of something...

Does anyone know the longest unbroken period that the same party has been in power in this country?
It shows how out of touch the old codger is if he thinks those kind of salary levels justify a 'hammering'.

The Tory period of dominance from 1807-1830 would probably count as the biggest. But there was a period of Whig dominance before that which might have been longer, but that's just outisde my knowledge span. I'll check Wiki...
Update: For some reason, I thought the younger Pitt was a Whig, so said Tory dominance would technically run from 1783-1830 (allowing for the minor hiccup of Grenville's ministry which lasted about a month).

There was a period of Whig dominance in the C18, but as I say, my historical knowledge doesn't extend over it, so I'm not going to comment on it.
Dont even think about it, the Lib Dems are a joke party, and can say anything they want to as they will never gain power.
