There are some certain truths here.
Whatever happened, you cannot run an investigation in this way. Months and months after the incident, the scene is being reexamined. People have come and gone. The apartment has been let and relet. What do they hope to find? New DNA? It would be hilarious if there wasn't a child missing.
They may have evidence to suggest that all of the parents were checking the one room. Pretty unlikely that they'd all put them there though, eh?
As long as it sells newspapers, that's the main thing.
