The report this morning that the Queen has ordered that all employees on the Balmoral Estate must walk or cycle to work only proves again that the Royal family have no idea of normal life in this country.
This edict. because of global warming sits very nicely on the shoulders of a family who race around the countryside in gas-guzzling 4x4s.
How long is this dysfunctional family going to continue to rule their serfs?

I don't think it's an order, but a suggestion. However, it's a bit rich coming from a family who fly everywhere by private jet, have their own train and, as you say, roam around in 4x4's.
if they were to lead by example, such as hitchhiking from Windsor to Balmoral or slumming it on EasyJet for their trips abroad, then and only then would they have earned the right to make such suggestions to their staff.

I lost all respect for the Royals over the way Diana was treated before and after her death. I thought that William would be different, but his behaviour when he came out of that nightclub last week was not called for. If you cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Was also disgusted to see those pictures of Kate Middleton being taught how to shoot deer. The sooner these Royal are put on the back burner, the better.

Hmmm, if the Queen suggests that you do something, then you should obey.
I dont know why everyone criticises the royal family all the time on here.
This country really is losing all the traditions. And whats worse is, its not just homegrown terrorists, but all the home grown occupants who are turning out to be the downfall of it.
