I see the US have now targeted Iran as a possible producer of WMDs.
How coincidental & ironic that the death of Brigadier General Paul Tibbets earlier this week, contradicts US overseas policy.
If you are not aware Mr Tibbets was the American who piloted the Enola Gay which used a WMD in 1945 the first of two.
So far America is the only country to have resorted to using WMDs

Americans will be divided on this. The ones with brains will be well aware that the USA is the only country to have used WMDs, and will point this out in the press and media. The blinkered right, the rodeo cowboys and the rednecks will just not think about that at all, and hail Mr Tibbets as simply a war hero without thinking more deeply.

It has often been claimed that had the US not used the WMD during WWII more death and distruction would have followed. How sad and sorry can a justification get? So it makes one wonder if the US will use a similar reason on Iran to gain a quick kill (prevent Iraq scenario) or alternatively be prepared to spend hundreds of billions of US (plus others countries) hard earned cash on another deadly but no win war in the ME.
I expect we would know soon judging by the all out character assasination of Iran in the media.

YFC, I assume you used the word justification deliberatley as without doubt it did bring the US/Japan war to an abrupt end.

The irony here is that Iran probably will develop WMD, how else will they wipe Israel off the map which is there leaders stated intention. Of course all the bleeding heart liberals will bleat on and probably prevent a war, that in this case MAY become justified.

Just have to wait and see I guess.

the fact of the matter is that any country, like iraq, who threatens to sell oil in euros and not dollars is catastrophic to the us economy. why do you think iran are suddenly on their radar?? because they threatened to sell oil in euros. the americans cant trade in euros!!! this is all abouty money and not this c a r a p about wmd!! have they found any yet??no. this money thing is called the petrodollar where every dollar the us spends on oil ends up back in thier economy anyway. cant do that if nobody is willing to trade in dollars!!!!
