Don't know what I think about this story. On one hand there's the question of someone being free to follow their religious convictions to the end...and then on the other hand...it just seems...mad. Just mad.

I dunno. Just a horrible, sad story.
T'was the womans choice wasn't it?
What sort of woman would rather die because of the "scriptures" as opposed to being a mother for her newly born children?
A devoted one I suppose.

I find it very hard to muster up any kind of sympathy or strong feeling about this story. Even with the kids involved.

Lets face it, it's only cause the woman in question is pretty and just had babies that it's been splashed all over the papers. If it was some middle aged bloke with no kids no one would give a monkeys behind. Just more sensationalism and emotional manipulation.

I'm aware not caring about this story will not make me a popular person.
I couldnt give a monkeys chuff. I just feel sorry for the kids but "God" will become their new mother i expect.
Reverandfunk

The same sort of religously indoctrinated woman who would blow herself to smithereens at a military checkpoint.

The promise of the afterlife and all that nonsense.

While I accept that the choice was hers to make, I find it difficult to understand how someone who was delighted at the prospect of motherhood could deny her children the most basic right of all!
I think it was plain selfish to put her own wishes above the welfare of her children. No religion is worth that. And nobody has ever come back from the "afterlife" to tell us who was right.
The important decisions have to be made on the basis of what is known in this life and not what might be.

as i said in the other post, i dont for a minute think that the girl would have done what she did had she the very slightest idea what was going to happen
libertie - were those parents subsequently grateful to the Hospital for saving their child's life, and have they changed their attitudes towards this insane way of thinking as a result, or do they hold some grudge against the doctors, and look at their child thinking that he shouldn't be there?
To be honest Genesis I don't know! Their son did recover but I've no idea how they really felt about the doctors making that decision for them! Hopefully every time they look at their child they will be grateful that they (the doctors) made that decision for them!
Surely the law must be looked at and amended to deal with this type of situation.
The welfare of the babies should have been paramount, leaving them without a mother was the wrong decision.
She has been allowed to commit a form of assisted suicide, which in itself is against the law.
The courts should have intervened.
F----- idiots, again religion is the mythycal theme that runs peoples lives. I have no sympathy for the brainwashed fools.
all i said was that bit of hallibut was good enough for jehovah
