Samina Malik, a rather stupid girl who wrote rap songs under the name of the 'Lyrical Terrorist' has been found guilty of a terrorist offence.

She had a unhealthy ineterest in Jihad and Bin Laden and wrote rap songs in the style of 50 Cent.

I do not like her ideas, and glorifying holy war is misguided, but has she actually done anything that warrants her guilt as a terrorist? Is she the victim of the Thought Police?

I wasn't at the trial, nor do i know what evidence was presented. Seems she was indeed a silly girl, and maybe it was all for a 'cool' front - although what's trendy about being a supporter of terrorism is beyond me. I would claim that rather than terrorist offences, she would be in violation of inciting racial hatred, and would be punished on those lines. If anyone is releasing work that incites racial, or sexual hate (Mr Beanie Man), then they should be charged with it.
