Did we see Gordon Brown asleep during the remembrance Service on saturday night?

Well Gordon i think it would of been PRUDENT for you to show an interest in the service for our war dead.

Otherwise dont bother to show up.

Surely the Rembrance Service was on sunday morning. I have just glanced at the papers, and none of those saw him having a kip.

Perhaps you can supply a link.

i was watching the prog sat night from royal albert hall

the camera was on him for quite a few seconds and i said hes having a sleep, then the programme director i reckon saw it as well and cut away to another camera

the eve std had a shot and editorial this morning but doesnt show the 'extended blink' or 'inspection of inside of eyelids' in video form....yet
It was the Royal British Legion Festival of Rememberence on Saturday night, not the Remembrance Service.

Still, it seems strange that non of the papers or tv news picked up on the PM snoozing. Now that would make headlines wouldn't it?

Are you sure you were not dreaming yourself, helpmetoo?

Can't find it on the Mail or Standard website.

Don't you think it is odd that it was a nationally televised event and no one other news organisation saw him sleeping.

It's a cheap shot to use a festival of remembrance of our war dead to make unsubstanciated accusations.

LOOK WHO'S DOZING OFF

"He may have a tough job and a demanding young family, but veterans and TV viewers were surprised to see Gordon Brown appear to nod off at Saturday's Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

BBC cameras caught the Premier with his eyes briefly closed, and his head dropping gently forward."

He closed his eyes and bowed his head at a service. This is interpreted as 'appear to nod off'. The report is disingenuous and it is a disgrace to use war dead for cheap political gain.

If there was any trufth in this story, it wouldn't be buried as a footnote to a royal story it would be splashed across the front pages.

So, in answer to your question, No, we did not see Gordon Brown asleep during the service.
I watched a snippet of him at the service & he only seemed to close his eyes when prayers were being said.

I can't be bothered with most politicians, but had to mention that.

er.. is was watching the 'Festival'

i watch it every year out of respect

you apparently did not

i and many others know what we saw

am prepared though to concede that it had probably been a long day for him as it was after 9 pm

perhaps he will go further and try to lower the european working time rule of 120 hours or more on your bottom , that should finally finish this country off as regards international competitiveness

we can all go home then

This story was in the Express today as well, although nowhere near front page.

I don't like him but I feel a bit of sympathy, I sometimes feel tired and can fall asleep very easily (have nodded off in work meetings, at my desk, in college lessons) even when perhaps I am not that tired and I am interested in whats going on- I reckon some people just fall asleep very easily.

I'd love to see him out of power, but not because people think he may have fallen asleep (when he in fact probably did not) and consider that more important than his policies/ability to lead the country.
