Gromit has a point. We live in a strange, blameless society where anything that goes wrong is always someone else's fault, or the consequence of unfortunate circumstances. Whingers, who often have nothing much to whinge about, but simply feel they're hard done-by, sap the listener's energy - a bit like the Dementors in Harry Potter - they tend to suck all the happiness out of those around them and it can be incredibly draining.
I do believe that whinging is habit-forming - the more a person whinges, the more they will whinge, often losing their sense of humour completely along the way - so they need to be aware of that, but taking an interest in life and debating current affairs, whether you're for or against a particular topic is, I believe, healthy, and does help to keep your mind up to speed.
Good thinking Haggis - and come to that, you too China. :o)
