Ok , so Panama has not extradited anyone , since ... well since a long time ago - even though Britain has a treaty with them

Nevertheless , do you think the lady did her homework properley , or could she have chosen somewhere better, to avoid a visit from one of those chappies from the Constabulary ?

As for the gentleman , not having any memory of the inerviening period - Yeah , right !!

I think he knew the fuzz were onto him so he thought he should hand himself in, and used the guise of "I've forgotten everything".

Problems with amnesia (1) that the defendant cannot remember does not stop him being tried fairly
2) it's not a defence [Case is Rv Podola. He tried those and was hanged !]

In the instant case we may expect a similar failure.

On a purely factual basis, 'he must forgotten, within moments of it happening, that he did not drown. Otherwise he'd have gone straight to tell people he was still alive. And that's only the start of the examination.. !

I know. There are a million ways he could slip up just via an interrogation. They could use loads of news items to test him. Wars, hangings, what was happening in Eastenders when (his wife...as men always say) last watched it. He's bound to slip up somewhere.

Also wasting the time of the police and other services when he first went "missing".

But what about the strain on his close family (sons etc) who believed he was dead only to find out he was not.

I am sure someone is going to make a film of this.
