It is very sad. My two stepchildren are adopted and as and when they get partners, we do very discreetly ask about them and their parents.
Luckily not had any problems (and both have always know they are adopted).

just wondering why they chose that option, vic. It must involve respect for an intrusive law outweighing the love you've had for someone. Or perhaps they did indeed just get freaked out - never having been in that situation I don't know how freaky it would seem. But I would have thought if you really loved someone that would be the emotion that outweighed others.
I have to say I agree with jno, I thought the same thing too actually last night, was talking to my housemate about it and I just thought that if you loved someone enough to marry them and then you found that out.... I don't know, it's tough enough in this world to find someone you click with, especailly to the point of wanting to spend the rest of your life with them, I think I'd keep my trap shut.
