One brave lady.

It is extremely surprising that the Arab financed TV in Dubai would allow this to air. Be sure and watch this, it is so powerful I have no doubt she now has a very large price on her head. I also have no doubt it won't be on
the air long.
She is one impressive woman. Here is a powerful and amazing statement on Al Jereeza television. The woman is Wafa Sultan, an Arab-American psychologist from Los Angeles . I would suggest watching it ASAP because I don't know how long the link will be active. This film clip should be shown around the world repeatedly!

Al-jazeera is much maligned by the ignorant. It was set up by the BBC Middle Eastern staff when Mrs Thatcher made them redundant (no voice, no influence). The channel is a thorn in the sides of the dictatorships and monachies of the Arab world because of its balanced and fair reporting (a failing for which the US dislikes it)..
more here.

I'm sure the usual suspects on here will dismiss her as a lone voice and maintain that all the rest of them are dangerous and murderous.

On the basis of the fact that it was shown on 21st February 2006 , it has been covered by a lot of reporters leading her to be voted on to Time magazines 100 most influential people and is widely accessible using youtube, I think we can safely assume that it will be on air for a lot longer. Still, why not add a bit of theatre to your 'question' by pretending it may be taken off any time soon.
But well done Lucy for posting something almost 2 years in the "News" section.
Maybe we should have a "New News" and "Old News" section

What a lady!
That was everything anyone ever wanted to say about religious persecution and human rights. I just hope she is very well protected as she is definitely someone who should be a role model for our very wet and very jumpy politicians.
I'm a bit surprised she used the wide eyed posture, though. As a psychologist she should have been aware that this is seen as threatening so will not help her argument. Nevertheless, she is just so incredibly brave to have the courage to stand against the terror of islam that hope this stance doesn't place her in danger.

Oneeyevic, it doesn't matter how old this is, I for one ahve never seen it and I,m pleased some one brought it to my attention because It shows not every one from that part of the wotld is a nutter, something which the media in the west is keen to show.
Strange the western media didn't make a point of showing it.
She is a brave woman who speaks a lot of sense.
Le Chat judging from the look on the other guys face I think his thoughts were "She Just made the list."

Wafa Sultan
iBorn in Damascus to an Alawi family.[1]She resides in Los Angeles, California. She emigrated to the United States in 1989, and is now a naturalized citizen. Sultan has become notable since the September 11, 2001 attacks for her participation in Middle East political debates, with Arabic essays that circulated widely and some television appearances on Al-Jazeera and CNN.
On February 21, 2006, she took part in Al Jazeera's weekly 90-minute discussion program The Opposite Direction. She spoke from Los Angeles, arguing with host Faisal al-Qassem and with Ibrahim Al-Khouli about Samuel P. Huntington's Clash of Civilizations theory. A six minute composite video of her remarks was subtitled and widely circulated by MEMRI on weblogs and through e-mail. In this video she scolded Muslims for treating non-Muslims differently and for not recognizing the accomplishments of non-Muslim society, while using its wealth and technology.
The New York Times estimated that the video of her appearance was viewed at least one million times as it spread via weblogs and email.[2] Sultan revealed to the Times that she is working on a book to be called The Escaped Prisoner: When God Is a Monster.

If ANY camel humping TV company want to film me I shall speak in ENGLISH and terrorist language why islam is evil.
Will I then be viewed as "brave"?
I fail to see any relevance in her monologue. When Martin Luther King spoke out, things did change. When Nelson Mandela spoke out, things changed, even from behind his prison walls.
What will change with Islam, whether in the UKor worldwide.
This week alone we have had:
1) Pig-stinking muslims getting the hump all because a suspected terrorist was taped in prison.
2) Moustache wearing muslim health working women spreading MRSA because their putrid religion forbades them to wash their arms at hospitals.
3) Child-raping Sharia compliant laws proposing to be introduced to Britain.
Nothing will come of whatever she said. Salmon Rusdie tried and failed.
The only real change is to pray and hope a Christian God will give every muslim a chance to stop practicing the religion, and if they refuse inflict cancer on every single terrorist, pig-stinking one of them.
Am I islamophobic????
Too bloody right I am. I fear they are taking over the world, spreading pure evil in their wake.

Does that not say it all, the fact that she will be a target for daring to speak out against muslims. I had never seen or heard of this before so the fact that it was two years old is irrelevant. Thank you Lucy for bringing it to the attention of those of us who had not seen it. I fear for her though, but that is what they want is it not? How many politicians are afraid to speak out for fear of losing their jobs or even their lives. It is sickening.
