'Hoodies' attacking the Fire Service
I saw an item on the news this morning about yobbos attacking fire fighters whislt they are out on a call.
Rather naively, probably because I live in a middle class area, I had no idea, none, that this sort of thing happened.
My gob was well and truly smacked!
It was scum chav male youths doing the attacking - obviously.
Now given that this crime is completely indefensible, what should we do to these scumbags to avoid it happening?

Any and all of which would probably be, in part, contributing factors. It still does not excuse them. But I think most of it is down to the parents and a total lack of any moral education.
If Parents will not teach their little darlings that this sort of thing is wrong then some one else should and the parents should be cut out of the picture altogether. May be lack of child benefit might help make these parents more responsible.

I think now that in this country people cannot be punished and for that reason they continue to commit crime. (We know who to blame for this)
When I was younger and at school we had the cain and crime/bullying and vandalism was very low. Since the cain was banned and parents are no longer allowed to punish their children, thats when the crime-wave started
They should bring back the cain (which will make young children think twice).
Im very glad that I was born in the 60's and not a young thug of today.
People continue to commit crimes (we know again who to blame) and they go to prison (a holiday camp)
In my opinion and I am entitled to it, prisons should have cells with a bucket and a toilet and nothing else. No fruit machines, no pool tables, no radios, no televisions and even more so..bread and water. Im sure then the crime in the UK will drop almost over night.

My opinion
Although I respect your opinion splinta I do not believe in corporal punishment. I agree that children need parental discipline, firm rules (and also lots of love) but I managed to bring my children up quite successfully without resorting to violence (and using a cane is violence).
The trouble as I see it is that some parents don't seem to care at all about what their children are up to - they are more interested in other things and their kids are just 'in the way'. Their is something terribly wrong with their values. Unfortunately, their children will grow up to act exactly the same when they have children. I am not sure how we can break the cycle.
