History has shown that we can be on the same side if it suits us both. Brown (for the moment) is unwilling to follow Blairs' subservient relationship with Washington, so the french are an ideal equal partner within the EU.

You actually dont seem to erad my posts fully. I did qualify the statement with 'if I can help it' I beleive.
The French dislike buying our products so why should I buy theirs. Have adopted this policy since they burnt our lamb.

I'm going solely on the picture in Loosehead's link. She appears to be a very good looking lady and I have no wish to see her with her kit off (obviously).
Also with regards to Sarkozy's looks - I would draw your attention to the fact that there isn't a single famous couple in the entire world where the male partner is better looking than the female partner.
I challenge you to prove me wrong.
(Oh - except Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz).

Both countries it is illegal to hijack trucks and burn their contents at the roadside. It's the reaction of the authorities that sets us aside. In UK the police would arrest and change the purpetrators, in France they stand and watch.

Was it legal? No
Did the police arrest them? No
Correct me if I'm wrong but I dont think you have to be burning something to be arrested?
If you or I were to go and blockade a road or site this afternoon we'd be arrested just as the French Police would arrest someone on his own that set fire to a British lorry in Calais this afternoon.
When feelings are enraged and there are a lot of people about police often take a softly softly approach
On both sides of the channel!
