Of course his comments were a joke: practising euthanasia on the long-term jobless and pointless to avoid them 'breeding for greed' is wrong.......................................however, we do have a huge problem in this country where the underclass do breed for greed and the absolutely absurd situation where this breed earn more on benefits than they would receive on minimum wage.
What are the solutions?
1. Sterilisation? (possibly a bit harsh).
2. Stop child benefit after the second child - this should encourage them to get off their lazy backsides.
3. Peg ALL benefits for those that choose not to work to just below the minimum wage.
I have no beef with those who can't work - I do however have a massive, huge problem with those lazy, workshy, pointless, waste of space scumbags who choose not to work. I firmly believe that if you choose not to work your should not receive any benefits whatsoever.

No flip-flop he was referrring to disadvantaged children in care!

(The Mail no less!)
I think what's quite concerning is that such a joke suggests that his opinion of disadvantaged kids in local authority care is that they just are a painful financial burden whos cost to the taxpayer is to be minimised at all costs.
Rather paints himself as a Dickensian character

Thanks for that Kempie.
Some one in his job should really to know better than to make a tasteless joke like that. Children in care are not there by choice. To make any comment like that (joke or not) shows a mind that is to privaliged to think about any one but themselves. Lets face it we all know that councillors for the most part, like MPs are some of the biggest wasters on this planet. Any excuse for a booze up at the rate payers expense.
I wonder what ever made him think he could get away with it or more to the point how many other people in that room laughed when he said it?
