Or should he be sacked, made to opologise for the sake of peace with the Muslim world?

He is being just a tad inflammatory, but I also think he (and everyone else) should be allowed to speak his mind.

Muslims are supposed to be peaceful yet every reaction they make to something like this is usually violent or calling for someones death.

he has certainly fanned the flames of terror hasnt he?but he has an opinion and has stated it in no mean words.i certainly wouldnt like to be in his shoes.it wont be long before we see muslims rioting in the streets banging their heads with their hands calling on death to all westerners.he has certainly upped the ante with his opinions,but yes i think he should have his say.....he might not be around much longer to make any more comments tho.

He's an idiot. But stupidity isn't - and shouldn't be - a crime. He, like everyone, should have the right to say as he wants (and I'm including everyone - homophobes, Nazis, fundies, the lot). People should also have the right to challenge him.

Apologise for what exactly? For telling it like it is? I think a lot of people agree with his opinion. The very fact that what he has said places him and all westerners in danger is proof that what he is saying is right. It is about time someone stood up to these muslim extremists instead of trying to appease them all the time.We are all entitled to an opinion and should be free to express it without fear of violence.

If a religion can't survivs criticism there's nothing of substance in it worth worrying about.

Free speech is the cornerstone of society, and that can never be sacrificed. The counter side of that is that people have a right to reply, and that too must be kept sacred.

Should he be sacked? Or course not. Is he right? I don't know. Has he the right? Yes.

It is all too easy to offend muslims. I wonder what the hell they are doing here if they find us and our customs so abhorrent. They wont stop until they have recreated here what they originally fled from. It seems the only way we can co-exist is for non muslims to keep their mouths shut.

The man is a fool. It's no surprise that his sudden radical beliefs took hold when he was assaulted by immigrant youths, and became convinced that based on that attack they were the route of all social ills.
So we have a western bigot trying to get a rise out of eastern bigots in order to prove bigotry and then tar few hundred million people with the same brush.
