Pete Doherty......
What a suprise, in prison for just 6 days and already smacked off his head.
He's finally being punished for being one of society's dregs and for the crimes he committed but how come it's ok for him to be shooting up in prison?
How do prisoners, in what is said to be a maximum security prison still manage to get their hands on herion?

If he is "smacked off his head" as you put it then i'm not surprised, drugs are freely available in prisons these days. Also with him being a registered heroin addict they will have to supply him with methadone or similar to stop the withdrawal symptoms, there have been some large payouts recently to prisoners who were forced to go cold turkey.

If all prisoners were kept behind glass panels, then no visitor could smuggle the stuff in, to hand over. In which case...it leaves only two more ways. Either someone throws it over a wall or leaves it somewhere at a pre-arranged time (create inner exercise areas, well away from buildings and walls) - or the warders are not as honest as they should be. Governors should make spot checks on their staff & inmates, and let the junkies go cold turkey.
Depends on what you deem reputable daffy! I read it in the Sun Newspaper this morning - and here's the link to the online stuff.

Because it's not just the drugtaker who's harming him or herself - they can literally kill for the stuff, the same as drunks who get behind the wheel a car can kill, and the innocent should never have to be in danger because of someone's lousy habit.
If a person wishes to stay inside and drink or drug themselves into oblivion - fine, it's no loss (apart to their nearest & dearest), but who wants to walk down the road and meet a violent/collapsing/spaced out wreck of a person - whether "famous" or not? That goes for a drunk person as well.

Hi Icey :-)...You're right..George's addiction was terrible and ruined his and other lives.I was just saying that although George did all those terrible things that he accepted...he tried to give stuff back by not just throwing money at charities, but, got involved by appearing personally when other personalities would never have even bothered.
I agree with you linda - honestly. Like others in the same boat, he went about things quietly, and yes, to some extent, he was such a hero in footballing circles, that despite his drinking, he could do no wrong. Trouble was, to get back to the original post, at the end, he was a fool to himself. Once he'd had the transplant, he should've taken stock of himself. I'm sure it wouldnt've been easy, but there were so many people there, willing to help. The same goes for Pete. I really think that folk who repeatedly abuse their bodies are unhappy in some way - whether that's to get drugged up, or completely hammered. If they were strong, fulfilled characters, there wouldn't be any need to seek further "thrills".
Just occurred to me that Elvis was exactly the same. Died of a drugs overdose whilst whacked out of his head on the toilet.
In fact, celebrity and drugs aren't exactly new...
