"You there stop doing that"
"Why?"
"It's er...Helath and safety! - Now do as yer told"
You almost never find a proper H&S person behind these stories it's almost always an over officious middle manager who's had some sort of complaint

Agree with squarebear, we see adverts every day on the TV asking "been hurt in an accident, fancy suing someone to pay for your holiday".
Recently we saw the case where at a kids birthday party (what could be more safe than that!) a boy accidently kicked another boy in the head on a bouncy castle and broke his skull and sued the family for a million pounds (and won).

All the college are doing is issuing this warning so that if someone DOES get hurt they cannot sue the college as the college can say "we told you not to do it".

A 15 year old uses a bouncy castle with an 11 year old and there is inadequate supervision.
The 11 year old gets a fractured skull and now after suing they can pay for their son's treatment
And you think that's Health and Safety gone mad?
What would you have had the parents do? give it a rub better?

Reminds me of the reason they gave for not being able to bring back the old Routemaster type buses in London - in case the bus company got sued when someone fell getting on or off the bus.
Made me wonder when we stopped being able to get on a bus without falling over. Our parents and grandparents seemed to manage it ok.
