2 year ago G.W.bush got the green light to start work on the Star wars program his farther Start, dose any one know if it's operational or what is happening with this?

i was whacthing a program saying that the us air force are devloping a humve mounted lazer to destory air to ground missiles,aircraft,and any thing they want by 2005 which has a large chemical lazer, with hand held weapons coming out in 2010, so if they release this information about there new lazer weapons, what else have they got, bush got clearance from congress to go ahead with the star wars program 2 years ago now, has everyone forgot about it or what.

Of course, they'll be far too trigger-happy with these new weapons and will keep hitting us so-called Allies instead!

I've heard from someone who was in the gulf that patriot missiles are really poor at hitting things. Do we really need America to be even more powerful though?
