Why do Dads do this!

Sadly another 2 children have been murdered by there father in cheshire, what goes through the mind of someone that decides that there children must die in this way!!!

I cannot begin to imagine. I can understand suicide to a point but to take another life (esp your childrens) is horrendous.

The only thing can think is that it was a revenge act.

was it not a woman who killed her little boy and girl and left her baby critically ill in hospital just a couple of weeks ago? I think the dad was released without charge and the mum was charged

Yes - I think she had PMT and was working hge numbers of hours as far as I can remember.

As I said above suicide is one thing, but hurting your children is unforgiveable.

Women have literaly got away with muder citing PMT which is unbelievable.

Poor children and poor mother who is left to try and cope.

Yes they have. Poor ladies "I had pmt", "post natal depression" and people often seem to think that is an excuse of some sort. Anyonewho could kill their own children is clearly unhinged somehow. Its not cos these people are men and they don't feel the same as women, its cos they've gone mad in some way.

Was his main characteristic the fact that he was a father?

Could the fact that he was deranged, homicidal psychopath have been perhaps more significant?

I just feel that the category of people who slaughter their children is "deranged, homicidal psychopaths", rather than "dads".

I mean, my dad hasn't done it (although if he read some of my AB postings, he might be think about it).

I think often the dads are depressed anyway to start with. It often then happens that the wife finds a new partner or moves on and the men take the ultimate revenge.

There are a lot more cases of men mudering their children.

Straying from the subject but post natal depression often leads to post-partem psychosis which is often when mothers will kill their children. It's not an excuse but there is a reason.

I think men do this more often as its generally the women who get the custody. No one in their right mind would do it, I don't think its because men love their children less, they are just naturally more inclined to be violent.

If you looked at abuse in general it would probably be at least an equal level of men and women as women predominantly spend more time with the children.

Killing anyone let alone your own children has never been appreciable or acceptable. But many men do this not because they do not love their kids, but in fact they love their kids a bit too much and can not accept the fact that they no longer can have the right to have custody or contact with kids because of separation and then all the cooked stories by the women to make fathers look incompatible. I have seen few cases myself where kids are really suffering with mother but law still favors her over father. In the end few fathers unfortunately end up doing these things with a mind that If not mine, then not yours either. In most of the cases men tried to kill themselves because in their mind they are relieving the kids and themselves.

terribly sad .all this aftre reading ahread about a movie in which a mothre killed 2 of her 3 kids so she could be with her new lover.
i think this is not a male or female thing it is however terribly sad and therees no way sane pepple can even expect to understand it.

I feel really sad about this, they were found near where I live in North Wales and I drove past the spot yesterday just after they were found, it is so sad, such an awfull thing to happen in such a beautiful place, another marriage gone wrong so they kill themselves and the children to punish the partner? but they must be so very ill to do this, the mind can't be thinking rationally can it,

95 % of infanticide/murder suicides are committed by the father. Scares the hell out of me thinking about giving the kids to my nutjob ex.

Some of you may know this happened in my family, almost identical. My thoughts are with the mother at this time.

I get fed up to my back teeth with all this support for the female of the species, generally from their own gender.

Although this and other such similar crimes, are too horrible to envisage. Little thought is given to what must drive some fathers to commit these vile acts. So therefore the woman should shoulder some of the blame, for what has taken place.

The thought of a wife taking up with a new partner is bad enough, (but with the law mainly on the female's side these days), a man also has to bear the thought of his beloved children, spending the rest of their childhood, being brought up by the very person who also took his wife away.
