Dog Fouling
Fleetwood council have been snooping on and prosecuting people who don't clear up after their dogs. What interests me is whether or not it is better to leave dog turds to steam where they are. A scoop is not going to remove the entire pile, leaving residues all over the grass and far less visible. Better to see and avoid rather than be beguiled into believing it's ok to let kids roll in the grass and play there?

I'm a very squemish person but I have to pick up Tilly's turds if I take her out no matter where she does them, (she's usually good and waits til the park where there's a bin not far from her spot) and it hacks me off when i see people let their dogs turd and don't pick it up. In all fairness, it's rare that I see this. (Especially after I've had a word or two, I'm particualy shrill and annoying when i see it happen).
I've actually had to pick up some other mutts turds once when walking Tilly and my godson. I was scared he'd end up rolling face first in to it and I would have hated explaining that one to his mother.

I am not supporting dog turds, just wondering if the piles of excrement aren't best left to steam and dry where they are rather than the pathetic attempts of owners to 'scoop' them up, thereby giving the impression that the ground is clear, whereas infact all they have done is to remove the biggest lumps (or runny slime) and left disease-carrying traces unseen for toddlers to roll in.
Fair point whiffey. My dog tends to go on concrete though, and because he eats dry food, his poo comes out looking quite similar to how it went in, and so is easy to pick up and dispose of.
I am the same as China-I see my a**e big-time when I see people failing to fulfil their dog-owner duties. It gives responsible owners and innocent dogs a bad name.

I always pick them up using a bag over my hand, and as my dog eats dry food I am able to pick all of the turds up.
It irritates the hell out of me when I see people allowing their dogs to crap all over the pavement and then just walk on, but I have to say, it tends to be chavs and their staffs.
As an aside, why do chavs always have staffs? They're ugly looking b4stards - and the dogs aren't that good looknig either.

Cat turds are awful, but horse and cattle are fine, reflecting their healthy vegetarian diet. At primary school there was an initiation ceremony called 'holding the golden rod' in which you were blindfolded in the fields and invited to hold the golden rod, which was a stick which had been rolled in a fresh cowpat. Not at all unpleasant.
Very good point Whiffey. I have often thought this whilst attempting to bag my dog poos and leaving some residue. It is virtually impossible to remove the whole lot unless I carry water, disinfectant and a scrubbing brush.
My dogs usually use my own lawn and I hose it down at the offending spot!
I look forward to buying some of SP1814's in the near future. Please don't forget to leave a space for the dogs' tails!
