Should this person be banished from all parts of the site apart from Chatterbank, where he clearly belongs?

That would be jolly exciting. Sin binned for being risque? But I fear not.
ANd Whiffey, my view is quite the opposite of what you suggest. I hold no ABers above any others but, by the same token, neither would I seek to put any down.
If I disagree with someone, or dislike what they are posting, then I will ...
(a) ignore them, and move on, or
(b) engage them (like now).
BUT, what I would not do, is start a thread which attacks them personally, just cos I personally felt aggrieved.

23 minutes to find the post, Legend. Not good enough.
What you did tonight was block up a topic area that is regarded by most ABers as a serious subject area with your nattering. You used up 7 slots of the 20 that appear on the first page so serious questions got relegated more quickly. Very discouteous.
I don't have a problem with Chatterbank because I don't have to go there. What I do object to is finding Chatterbank material littering other parts of the site. You are not alone in this - just an example that caught my eye.
The site, IMHO, is gradually degenerating. That is News. That's why I posted the question. Attempts by others to make suggestions in AB Suggestions fall on deaf ears - see here

The last Editors Blog is dated 9th July so nothing much happening there then. Thats why I decided to draw attention to the degeneration here.
The origins of the site are in its name AnswerBank. Its time the owners split the site or it will die. Folks wanting answers to serious questions just wont bother.
This question will clearly be banned by AB when it eventually gets around to it. In 4 years of use I have one other banned question to my name on a similar issue of daring to criticise other ABers. But I feel that strongly about it that it worth just one evening of debate.
So guys, what is the answer to the problem-child called Chatterbank.? Which is actually my real question.

Sgt.Rock - so you know all about kettle, pot and black?
To you and terambulan - In any forum there are people whom one learns to like and others to dislike. However, it is grossly out of order for you to accuse someone of something (ie porn posting) that is totally untrue. If you behave like that away from 'pixel land', then you need pity. Before making outrageous condemnations which you are unable to substantiate, think how you would react if you were the victim. Each of you is a disgrace - but on reflection, maybe you are merely displaying your true characters.

But Joggerjayne, you still haven't explained what you regard as a big boy on AB. Leaving aside smut for once, what on earth are you talking about? legoland is a big boy on here, is that what you are saying? Rather than a persistent poster who overposts to the point of tedium. People give up because it's like pi$$ing into a headwind. No moderation, that's the problem, not that I mean legoland should be banned, but that there is no feedback for how the site should be conducted or develop. Like News now. Great fun for a half-witted drunk, but not the way the site should run.
Whiffey, you don't seem able to separate the ideas of Big Boys (= important) and Big Boys (= can cope with the rough and tumble).
There was a book about the army undercover in N. Ireland called Big Boys' Rules. Look it out. It may give you a better idea of what I mean by Big Boys.
Big Boys don't whinge, or cry, or run to mummy (the Ed).
And girls can be Big Boys too.
But most of all ...
Big Boys do not start rude, personal threads.
And if you condone such rudeness Whiffey, then you really shouldn't.

Newsdesk your inability to post anything in anyway factual makes you more like comicdesk than newsdesk.sir prize wasnt defending me posting pornography , simply because i never posted any .You really are a bit of a doughnut arent you?
Is your lack of intellect as obvious offline/Or do you have a job where you can hide your inability to read and digest correctly?
Something like a traffic warden i guess eh ?
