You have no absolutely no idea who the kidnapper is. Think about it - at this point to have Madeleine out in public would be an enormous risk that they must be taking for some very very good reason. Anyone with half a brain who was taking such a risk would almost certainly have an escape plan with the child. Not least because the child could aid in their capture (and they would want her for something if they'd have kept her alive til now and were parading her around in public).

So the minute you started hollering they'd have vanished - again, think - they'd be on high alert all the time and would be able to get going before you'd finished your sentence. They'd also manage to get a head start before the police even knew about it. If you call the police first and then wait, there'd be a much higher chance they can get the kidnapper.

I don't believe any of these 'sightings'.

This kidnap is the most high profile child abduction I've ever known. Whoever took her managed to get her out of the apartment, out of the village and then vanish.

They are hardly likely to then turn up to in a garage, newsagent or wherever with CCTV cameras parading her about.

However, to answer the question, if I thought I'd seen her, I'd look into her right eye to see whether she had that mark, and if she did, call the police on my mobile.

I believe the majority of the current press reports are fabrications, which is not helping the child in any way.

Children have gone lost, never found, in every country in the world, and nobody charged. You'd best stay at home for your holidays.

I asked same question to my mate yesterday after seeing news about man that said she had 'the madelaine eye' I wouldnt go grab her but I would call police and follow the people if I had definately seen the eye.

All of these "sightings" are tosh in my opinion.

IF she has been abducted, her appearance would have been changed the day after.

Secondly, do people honestly believe that the "abductors" would take her to shops and let her wander around on her own?

Exactly how can someone be 85% certain? Is this the defect in the eye that gets it to that level?

The longer she remains missing the less sightings there should be. After all any normal children look very different from say age 2 and then at age 4. Yet as time goes on the sightings increase. Anything blonde with a twitchy eye will do.

If you do have a blond daughter around 4 with an eye defect, don't take her out. Stokemaveric will raise holy hell if he sees her. After all, he would be 85% sure.
