The reason why Joss Stone and 50 Pence will be in the same awards show is the same reason why the Arctic Monkeys and Duffy will be in next year's Q Awards...although their music isn't in the same category, it will be considered by the organisers to be in the same field of categories - ie pop/rock.

I think you're widening the scope of the point under discussion here.
The past dozen or so postings have been about the MOBOs (which, by the way, I won't watch until My Good Lady Madonna gets her well overdue nomination).
But back to your point...the English Leagues are absolutely not racist because people from different races...actually people from different continents play.
I assume the same is true about all cricket teams. It depends where your born, not on the colour of your skin.
And the Harlem Globetrotters weren't so much a team, as an entertainments venture.
Like Big Daddy, they never lost.
Saying that the Harlem Globetrotters were inherently racist because they have no white players is like saying the Jackson 5 were, because they were all black...
...well, at least up until 1987.

Ok so i brought up the MOBOS (why??)
but some people are saying 'Oh but the Kerrang music awards is all white people'.
Thats because there are only 2 bands i can think of with black people in them, that could come under 'kerrang music'.
The problem is not the nominees. Its the name. Because if there was a MOWO all hell would break loose.
Remember on Big Brother all the scandal with jade goody but it was ok for the black guy to call her 'White trash'.
And on MTV shows like Pimp My Ride the continualy mock white people for their colour. Saying things like 'Your white, you cant rap!' but if a white person said that about a black person it would be a huge deal

What would you call the MOBO's then, Ladybug?
The style of music it is geared to awarding is absolutely 100% undisputedly of black origin. Chance would be a fine thing for white people to root such wonderful music to way back yonder. You can bet your ass that if it WAS originated by white people then we would be damn proud to have many other Nationalities tap into it to create their own tunes and make an awards ceremony for it.
The music is of black origin and that's all there is that can be said.
The UK is far too PC.
