Almost all guitar based music comes from the blues and jazz of black america in the early 20th century. I think the closest you'll come is elctronica from the Kraftwerk school of music.
Regards the sensitivities of the MOBO's, they are an award from a time where black culture was under-recognised in the UK and they were introduced to highlight the talent that was around. It would be a little unfair to suggest that as they've been so successful they should cease to exist. Many would say that there is still a need for the distinction, although I think strides have been made recently to blur the lines (and I mean more than Ebony and Ivory!)
By the way, I'm a distinctly middle class white boy - not that this should be important, just feel like I should give some context.
Peace.

You mean the guitar that was based on a succession of other instruments dating back at least 5,000 years and introduced to the slave plantations by Europeans before being adopted by the Jazz and Blues pioneers.
I have no agenda here but the idea music is from a totally Black origin is frankly laughable.
Personally I have no issues with the MOBO's, however the idea that Black culture was underrepresented is also rubbish, plenty of Black winners singing "black music" had won BRIT awards prior to 1995 when the MOBO's started.
