If this were to happen, let's hope that Boris chooses carefully. We don't need more of the type that will cry racial discrimination at the drop of a hat.

But perhaps a good tough American cop is what is needed. One that is not tied up in political correctness, and not afraid to step on one or two toes.

Why look abroad. The Chief Inspector who brought zero tolerance policing in Britain was Ray Mallon. Although now a Mayor he could be re-instated and take on the vacant post.
