There is a bit of a hoo-hah in Scotland at the moment because the Dunblane killer is in it (Hamilton?). I agreed at first thinking, how on earth can he have contributed to our nation. Now I understand the reason for the list, I support his inclusion (indirectly led to ban on weapons and increase of awareness of gun issues, not that they've solved the problem).

I honestly don't think you could come up with a top 10 - i think to come up with 55,000 is pretty good considering the time period. However in no particular order (and this is last 100 years and some still alive): Winston Churchill; Margaret Thatcher; Isambard Kindom Brunel; Sir Richard Branson; Rupert Murdoch; ADolf Hitler; Sir Clive Woodward; Sir Bobby Charlton; (oh my do I only have 2 people left???); John Lenon and Sir Alan Sugar.

Hitler, another famous vegetarian. How about Alfred the Great, the Venerable Bede, Rob Roy, the Duke of Wellington, Llewellyn, Lewis Carrol, Queen Victoria, William Blake, William Morris, William Shakespeare, Just William. There're tons!

On Radio 4 there is a comedy programme called "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" which is very silly and very funny. One of the games is called "Mornington Crescent" in which the contestants say the names of various railway stations one after another, and the winner is thye first person to say "Mornington Crescent". On each episode of the programme, just before they play "Mornington Crescent" the chairman reads out a letter from "Mrs Trellis of North Wales" which has various bits of wit and wisdom in it about something which she has done or noticed or seen. There are usually about 2 series of ISIHAC each year, and it's on Mondays at 6:30pm, so it should be on again sometime.
