in fact JTP it is a good compairison as it highlights how we deal with things in this country and what other feel is acceptable. There seams to be quiet a gulf, if you excuse the pun.
No admarlow I think you'll find this is how we deal with things we don't like

13:36 Lets talk about blowing people to bits then shall we Raggy.

How many Iraqi civillians do you think got blown to bits by British and American forces during the invasion?

Current figures have 655,000 deaths on the hands of allied forces.

Jake is only talking about Iraq here, and few people are still calling 655,000 as few or collateral.

And the one here at the bottom is a typical response when someone disagrees with you..

14:02 jake - It must be really difficult for you to live in a country you despise so much.

No in my own simple words. Is it compulsory to agree with every single policy of the country you are living in to show your loyalty regardless of right or wrong?
Question Author
you clearly are a little slow, so I will explain in very short words (maybe keyplus 90 is your age?) my point is that in any war there is collateral damage (do you know what that means) but I feel that in this case as in ww2 it is justified when looking at he alternatives. Read it 3 times kepplus and make sure you make a note of the time...idiot.
Ok so according to you collateral damage is only where the killed ones are Muslims. Am I right?

But I have no idea what this has to do with the original question.

And please note that I havent called you idiot as I do believe that idiots can get better at some stage of life as few people have no hope at all.
Question Author
you truly are ignorant, where did i ever say that collateral damage is only muslims, give me a time you MORON.
All

This will make you feel a little sick - but see how you feel about this

Even if your family has been in this country for generations, it doesn't make you any more British than a family who have only just recently gotten their UK passport.

Britishness is a yes/no thing. You don't have degrees of Britishness. You either are or aren't.

Furthermore, you cannot (or rather should not) treat people depending on any kind of gradations of their nationality.

Can you imagine the confusion when applying for housing benefit? How could you prove how 'British' you are???
Haggisdj

Do you really believe there is an overwhelming Muslim plot to take over the UK?

Do you also believe in unicorns, pixies and night rainbows.

C'mon...don't believe the hype.
RAGGY ROMAN

Ever heard of right wing terrorists?

Admiral Duncan pub perchance?

People got killed.
Question Author
sp nobody thinks muslims will take over the uk (apart from a few muslims lol) but what im fed up with is mostly white middle class champagne socialists appologising for their over reaction to petty much everything (and i know its a small minority of muslims before you all get on your high horses, or should I say even HIGHER horses.
Am I really? Thanks for letting me know, otherwise I might have made fool of myself.

SP I liked what you said about Britishness. But one thing I could not understand. What is subject. Some times I have heard that someone is not a citizen but a subject. What is that. And I am serious please as I know you very well and I even know difference between you and admarlow.

"jake - It must be really difficult for you to live in a country you despise so much."

There's the attempted shut down.

Of course, it's the exact same intellectual ploy offered by George W Bush post 9/11 when he was trying to push through all manner of hair-brained, knee-jerk reforms in the US - if you disagreed with them, you were unpatriotic.

Which is what you would say if you had an inkling your arguments didn't stand up to rational scrutiny.

Or am I being unfair? Do let me know.
http://www.library.flawlesslogic.com/dresden.h tm

"Just a few hours before Dresden had been a fairy-tale city of spires and cobbled streets .... now total war had put an end to all that. ...The ferocity of the US raid of 14th February had finally brought the people to their knees... but it was not the bombs which finally demoralised the people ... it was the Mustang fighters, which suddenly appeared low over the city, firing on everything that moved .... one section of the Mustangs concentrated on the river banks, where masses of bombed-out people had gathered. ... British prisoners who had been released from their burning camps were among the first to suffer the discomfort of machine-gunning attacks .... wherever columns of tramping people were marching in or out of the city they were pounced on by the fighters, and machine-gunned or raked with cannon fire."

I can only give you a bare glimpse of the inhuman horror of the holocaust of Dresden. In Dresden, no fewer than 135,000 innocent victims died, with some estimates as high as 300,000. More died in Dresden than died in the well-known attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. More destruction befell Dresden in one day than was inflicted on the whole of Britain during the entire war.

So kinda puts paid to admarlows arguement.

And 3000 in twi towers over 135 000 in dresden .
even british prisoners of war ?

CVCollateral damage ?
Dint the ira use that excuse in the mainland bombings of britain ?

Question Author
dresden, like hiroshima helped end ww2 and save many more live, kinda puts things into perspective if you think about it ey leg end, potentially with out hose 2 events we could still be at was with germany, or worse still all nazis now.
