European Working Time Directive.
Labour / socialist MEP's and trade unions are still pushing to end Britains opt out on this bad law.
They claim it is H & S orientated, but nobody has given an opinion on the potential loss of earnings for individuals who like to work overtime to raise their standard of living.
Political interference or what?

Without being able to work longer hours, some people wouldn't be able to have what they do, or manage to bring their families up, yet it could cause folk to be tired and have accidents or suffer from stress, not to mention arguments at home. What do you think - individual choice?
Only by working lots of overtime was I able to get out of the crime ridden inner city, and buy a house in an area that gave my kids a fighting chance, with better schools, facilities etc.
Yes, maybe I burned myself out, and continue to do so, but what the heck, my choice for the benefit of my family. Nobody forced me to do it. My family is worth any sacrifice.
Also, what about somebody who plays vigorous sports and gets stressed out running this or that club etc before returning to work on monday morning. Should there be a law to ensure that time off work shoule be sedentary?
It's bad law.
