Labour / socialist MEP's and trade unions are still pushing to end Britains opt out on this bad law.
They claim it is H & S orientated, but nobody has given an opinion on the potential loss of earnings for individuals who like to work overtime to raise their standard of living.
Political interference or what?

In simple terms, there's for and against, isn't there? Without being able to work longer hours, some people wouldn't be able to have what they do, or manage to bring their families up, yet it could cause folk to be tired and have accidents or suffer from stress, not to mention arguments at home. What do you think - individual choice?
Question Author
Yes, individual choice AND responsibility.
I am responsible for ensuring i don't go into work drunk or drugged, equally, I should be, "fit", for work regarding tiredness / rest etc.
Will they prohibit active sports next in case we are too tired to go to work?
They need to butt out!
Lol - might not be as silly as it sounds. We seem to be facing prohibition in all sorts of areas. Wonder if we'll end up having to buy the pockets of air they allow us? We won't be able to breathe soon!

The EWTD would affect me financially, but not the buffoons who push for this law, who are on fat salaries, secretarial allowance, wine allowance, toilet paper allowance, and a golden handshake when they are too screwed up to continue.
Spot on - and don't you just love the way they take breaks, and go on courses - accompanied by fantastic meals - with tax payers' money!

Big cyber kiss for you Icey! Goodnight God bless.
Got to get my ugly sleep now.
Mwaaah!
Goodnight. Sleep well. x
Dearie me - so the fat capitalist pigs are now at fault for trying to ensure that people don't get 'burned out', have a 'proper' family life etc.

Damned if they do and damned if they don't.
Question Author
Only by working lots of overtime was I able to get out of the crime ridden inner city, and buy a house in an area that gave my kids a fighting chance, with better schools, facilities etc.
Yes, maybe I burned myself out, and continue to do so, but what the heck, my choice for the benefit of my family. Nobody forced me to do it. My family is worth any sacrifice.
Also, what about somebody who plays vigorous sports and gets stressed out running this or that club etc before returning to work on monday morning. Should there be a law to ensure that time off work shoule be sedentary?
It's bad law.
