At a time when asians such as the Taleban and insurgents are being demonised in the media, and we are constantly reminded of how Evil Osama Bin Laden is complete with headdress, it is easy to see how a child growing up over the last 7 years might develop an irrational fear.

It is not too long ago that passengers on an holiday jet had some Asian passenger removed before they would fly on the plan.

Yep - as been said above - what 14 year old nowadays would be freaked out by a person wearing a turban , as against any other form of headgear .

If I were the mother I would make sure her daughter doesn't watch pictures of lady's day at Ascott .
Now , there's were you'll find some truly frightening headgear .

Sounds more like the mother has got some hang up against Asians , to me .

Just gos to show that all the lefty laws in the world will not change peoples minds and attitudes. She is far from alone I know, its just that in this country we hide behind a stack of laws and a PC blanket. Laws are only any good if the masses believe them.

Whilst we maintain this manner of attempting to control people by laws we will never move on as the laws just breed resentment. That coupled with many asians and a few bloack people puliing the race card at teh drop of the hat are the cause of this sort of thing.

Persuasion not the stick its the answer.

People's minds don't simply change, they sometimes need to be prodded along.

Think about how weird it would look to see someone lighting up a fag in an office.

Imagine how strange it would be to see a secretary slapped on the bottom by a member of senior management.

Times change and people's attitudes change. When I was growing up the idea of a mixed marriage was pretty shocking, now it's commonplace.

This woman is entitled to her opinions, but because she can't expect others to meekly put up with them.

By the way - asking for a female cab driver is totally different. That's a common sense matter of feeling safe.

I can't think of many occasions where a female cab driver has raped someone.

You know what would be wonderful? If her car broke down in some remote spot, she calls the RAC and an Asian fella turns up, recognises her and informs her that he respects her choices and she can fix her damn car herself.

Then drives off as it begins to rain.

Socket your correct that is your choice, however in this day and age vocalising those thoughts may cause offence to others and you could be liable to prosecution.

In the society I grew up in people respected others choices so the media, people and society in general avoided offending other people, didn't swear in front of ladies, didn't force unwanted opinions on people and in the main any predjudcies amongst their own circle.

Today you can do anything and there is no comeback, punch a teacher thats ok - Harrange an old man on the phone because your famous, thats OK - the BBC may be forced to act, but Brand will still sell books and sell out shows, Ross will be back in 3 months.

You can say in a 6pm magazine prgrame that Santa doesn't exist thereby ruining the magic of christmas for a lot of kids, theres no condemnation of anything,
