I found this one and thought that it seems that this whole thing is getting out of hand.

Does any one else here think the same as Bernados is stating in this ad?
I know children can be a pain and I know its only an ad but is it a wonder that children are out of control when it adults are responsible for the way they behave?

I see this in shops, restaurants, on the street. People complain about noise and disturbance from children playing in their own back gardens; they complain about children being children.
I've heard these sort of comments from old people on the bus and younger adults in the pub; I've read these comments here and on other websites.
An airline is seriously considering providing child free flights; a cinema is banning children from some screenings (not because of the film rating)..
None is this would be happening if there were not a demand for it; and those demanding it are obviously intolerant of children

I think they have inadvertantly given us a glimpse of the future! In the end I think the absence of any control/punishement etc by the state will lead normally law abiding people into dealing with the problem themsleves. We'll be waking up every day with dead yobs on the streets when the public have had enough.
Children learn mainly from adults. Unfortunately few adults behave like this and they are not going to tell their children not to do it. For example if I drink then I cant expect my kids not to drink. Age limit and this and that does not work. Its in the news that children as young as 8 and 10 have drinking problem.
Now towards intolerance towards children. I believe that is another reason why children are behaving the way they are behaving today. Because many of the adults just cant bear children doing things like a normal child does. So children have changed their behaviour and started acting like adults rather. More and more people now are thinking about not having their own kids (due to lot of reasons). When you would not have your own kids among the others then you would object every thing they would do.

The problem lies with the parents. So many parents these days think the apple of their eye can do no wrong. It is shown in the attutude of many parents to Police/teachers etc and they then extend it on allowing their kids to run riot.
If you dont get out much and you have managed to find someone to look after your kids for an evening then you really dont want someone elses ruining your child free night. Kids should not be allowed in pubs full stop, how can we bang on about kids abusing alcohol if they grow up seeing that?
I see more and more the general public reacting to unruly kids after all the majority dont have kids and the big voters - the older generation - will vote with their wallet.
I agree with R1. Too many years of lefty loonacy will create a severe backlash. I somehow dont think we have even seen the start of it yet.

"I agree with the advert - a lot of adults are intolerant of children. "
I don't think that's the case, for me people are intolerant of badly behaved children.
While I have no doubts the content of the advert are comments from people about children, where and what context were they said? I'm sure I could cherry pick a number of comments from this very forum and present any case I wish. Were they for example attached to news story about a gang of kicks attacking and killing somebody?

WoWo and LoftyLottie
The figures come from aYouGov poll for Barnardo's that showed some 54 per cent of adult think children are beginning to behave like animals.
Mr Narey said: "It is appalling that words like 'animal', 'feral' and 'vermin' are used daily in reference to children.
"These are not references to a small minority of children but represent the public view of all children. Despite the fact that most children are not troublesome there is still a perception that today's young people are a more unruly, criminal lot than ever before.

Gromit. I am aware of this. I still agree with WoWo. The question asks does any one else here think the same as Bernados.......................
Well no I don't think that the general public is demonising children but I do think the general public is totally fed up with out of control children (myself included). I also think that taking snippets from websites and using them out of context in such a video is ridiculous.
The fact remains that there are many more out of control, intimidating and uncouth children out on the street than there ever have been and I do think the adults in charge of them are to blame.

Gromit, is there a link to the actual questions asked in the poll.
Apparently the poll reveals, amongst other things that 4 in10 people refer to children as ferral and a third of people say they think our streets are 'infested' - I really would question these answers for a start unless the questions guided them in this direction.
No sorry - I don't give this survey much credence and find the ad somewhat offensive.

I'm with Ethel on this one.
And I am inclined towards the media as a place to set quite a bit of the blame.
There isn't a day goes past when they don't report on the bad aspects of childhood. They seem to glorify any children who are not behaving qutie as what they see as correct behaviour.
They are children for heavens sake. They are noisy and they don't learn a thing if no one teaches them and whos responsibility is that.
I have often heard my much older sisters and brothers laughing about the things they used to get up to which would constitute as unsocialble behaviour now. Things like burying the work mans tools (done by my sister when she was 3 by the way), in the back garden, screaming up and down the streets.
I feel for kids today I really do.
They are damned if they do and damned if they don't.
People moan that kids stay in and don't go out to play any more then scream blue murder when they do.
What the hell do people want.
We were all kids once and I bet we all did silly things that got up other peoples noses.

Just to say that I actually like most children, love to see them playing and enjoying themselves and am not anti-children at all. However, I do think there are many more children than there used to be that are out of control - not the fault of the children but the fault of the parents.
I live in a small town and have noticed that there are far more youngsters 11 onwards out on the street at night than there ever were who are actually creating a nuisance and are sometimes quite intimidating. Children of that age never used to be around at night causing nuisance when they should be safely inside (for their own good too).
However, this does not mean I demonise children or have called them animals or ferral.
I am intolerant of adults and children who behave badly and upset others because of loutish or threatening behaviour.

Addendum:
Maybe the US is waking up to it and what they do we follow.
