Imagine you live in an ex eastern bloc sh1t hole and on the news you hear about a far off land where:

- You get given money for nothing in return
- You get free health care
- You get a house and your kids get free schooling

Well, Labour did away with immigration and border controls in the first place, allowing virtually unchecked legal and illegal immigration in, so if they do get it under control, they are just reversing their own policy.

A classic, Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted, anyway, this is just for votes, I doubt much will be done.

As the majority of new immigrants are from Afghanistan why not make it a condition of entry that they have to do some military service in Afghanistan. I believe if you emigrated to the US or Australia you are liable for conscription unless this has been changed..
