The "sales"
So we're all having multiple orgasms because the shops have condescended to drop 2p off a pair of tights. Gawd why are we so kin stupid that we believe all this sh1te. They are now making only 200% profit rather than than the usual 1000% and we think it's a sale, what's occuring? Is this the innevitable outcome when 50% of the population are thick as sh1t and 50% of them are thicker than that?

I happen to go in one near me on Monday, and it was pretty deserted.
Wednesday they announced "big closing down sale" so I went there again and it was PACKED, queues of 20 or more on each till.
But the prices were exactly the same as they had been on Monday. I stayed in there for about 2 minutes.
The people in there seemed like zombies, walking round thinking "these are all bargains, I must buy something".

But think how much you would save again if you wait until the January sales....
The media coverage irks me actually. Every darn day from the beginning of November we hear tales of woe about counter sales being down, up, round the bend and are expected to pity the poor retailers. Sadly people fall for it. The believe by taking advantage of sale prices, VAT reductions, and closing down sales that they are actually doing the economy and the shop employees a favour. Come 2009 when they all report good or bad pre-Christmas sales compared to last year, they will still diminish the employee quota and shut branches regardless.

We live in rip off Britain and have been ripped of continually for years.
There is still a way to go so dont start getting teary eyed for a few profiterring shops that are forced out of business.
R1, unfortunatley the population is thick as pig sh1te. That is why I believe everyones vote should be weighted. Our well thought out vote is countered by some thick t*sser who couldnt find his backside with both hands (much like many labout politions I suppose)

What like the thick t*sser who can't work out that with companies like Woolworths closing doesn't just effect the owners of the 'profiteering shop' but that 30,000 people will not be in work in the new year?
