wind farms
It seems to me that wind farms are a very good idea for producing power. I know that they're noisy, but if placed in remote areas, they don't bother anyone. Why isn't the government providing more support for this very sustainable power source?

Driving through mid-wales on the way to the coast they seem to jump out from behind hills!!!! They are far more visually invasive then a lot of people imagine and very soon you would run out of 'remote' places to put them. I suppose they would grow on us all like pylons did.
Dont mean to be contrary but I think they are rather beautiful. Certainly better than the Nuclear power station I grew up next to.
Also the thing about wind...in the uk gb is dead wrong...on average there are 12 days in the year when any given place will not have enough wind to turn a turbiine. Less in coastal areas. They are not as reliable as other means of power, but could easily supply 30% of the grid without any brownout problems.
And as for remote places, the idea of floating windfarms pretty much dels with this..
Personally a good place for them seems to me to be inside the house of commons....
