Incedentally the hospital in Edinburgh was built as one of those PPI initiatives, I am sure that shed loads of cash has been made by somebody when you consider the size of the site that was created in the centre of Edinburgh.
one more thing. my next door neighbours are a paramedic and an intensive care nurse and they have to pay for parking as well. now that is seriously wrong
Once again, we DO NOT get free prescriptions in Scotland.
what is it with the free prescription palavar, we've only told you dozens of times on this site that its not true, please take the blinkers off
Sorry my mistake. A simple misunderstanding.
But your charges have been reduced to 5 with a view to abolish them in 2011 havent they?
My last script was nearly 7
No idea samuel cat, I haven't had a prescription since I was about 8 - (now 42)! I just know for a fact that you have to pay, because I have to declare that a presciption is free if I collect one for one of the kids.
samuelcat - why is that wrong? They are lucky to get somewhere close at hand to park, many workers don't.

Why should hospital workers get free perks? Should a consultant surgeon pay to park and a nurse not? Many employees have to park away from their work place and pay.
The Scots (and the Welsh) have got this completely wrong, so we definitely should not follow them. The NHS should spend every penny on supplying healthcare, NOT subsidizing motorists.

What are you saying Gromit, the Scots are in someway receiving less in the way of health care and other services?

I cannot see them losing out in anyway, due to them not paying hospital parking fees, receiving free health care for their elderly, reduced prescription charges, and their use of a wide range of cancer drugs denied to patients south of the border, plus of course free university fees.

The only losers once again are the English.
are you saying that our charges should drop here in England or that Scotland should pay more, out of interest?
