More Social services lunacy??
So it's ok for natuaral parents to torture their kids to deach but woe betide anyone who wants to adopt unless they fit the social services view of perfection:

Ok so they're a bit on the porky side, will that effect their ability to be loving parents to one of the many kids desparately needing adoption?

You can be a bit on the large side and live a very full and active life.
But I think I read somewhere earlier today that he's 22.5st. This is more than a bit on the portly side...this is a very heavy man indeed.
I 'spose the adoption agency is taking the view, "If a smoker cannot quit the tabs to adopt a child, then a man who's a heart attack waiting to happen should also be excluded".
Seems a bit harsh, but there are more people looking to adopt than there are 'available' children. Therefore, you have to find the absolute ideal homes.
Yes, this couple might be able to offer a child a loving home, but another couple with a 'normal' BMI may also be able to do the same.
...without the attendent risks of squishing the poor child when running to answer the phone.

Obviously that isn't the case and really if that couple are determined to adopt he can lose weight . The couple have not been refused for ever, they are being reviewed in six months.
It really is this couples choice and they CAN do something about it - something that will be of enormous benefit to him in the long term.
