Does anyone think The Sooty Show was taken off television, because of possible racist connotations?

Prince Charles is now being criticised for calling his Polo friend "Sooty". I think the Media are causing unecessary problems, as from what I gather, this friend has had the nickname for many years. It's not as though Prince Charles created the it for him.

....or if they don't like it here....
There is still a difference between pc gone mad and pathetic, childish insults that only someone who hasn't matured past the age of 12 would find funny!
I got a bin laden with rags, packs and soot ;0)
thing is, sooty was yellow...????
Nothing wrong with name calling, but bullying is a different matter.

Name calling has been going on since the dawn of time. If you don't like someone you start calling them names or insulting their differences, politicians and some ABers are past masters at this game.

No one can force anyone to like another individual, it is not against the law, although they are slowly making it so, judging by the various laws they introduce.

Some groups take full advantage over these laws, it is their way of holding some power over us e.g. "They can't call me this" or "they can't use that particular word, but I can". Until there is a 'level playing field' there will always be a large number of the indigenous population who will see this to be a little unfair, to put it mildly.
