Most of the footwear I sell is made in Vietnam, China, Brazil or Italy. The factories are all high tech, very well run, the staff are paid at a rate that meets their national minimum wage or above, the workers have the same working conditions and benefits of any european factory and they produce a high quality product. If there were the equivalent factories in the United Kingdom the difference is they would be unable to operate the machinary or employ the staff because of the high overheads and business taxes.
i am sure people would work in such a factory in the UK, but the owners would not be able to afford to run it.

British refuse to pay decent wages.....as long as that is the case-then goods will be made elsewhere. Those things that are made here are expensive for what they are in most cases-except for very high quality goods.
