So they raped a girl and threw acid over her and got laughably short sentences. We were promised a review. Did anyone intend to review these sentences or was it a way to wait for things to quiet down ?

I doubt that it was done that quickly, these things take weeks or worse. The attorney general gets the files and reads them, then passes them to the appeal court if she sees fit.

Must be a certainty, these will get reviewed.Must be worth of the order of 14 years. And the Court will take the opportunity of reminding lower courts of the principles to be applied (and make lots of loud noises to appease anotheroldgit and make headlines in the Daily Mail! No doubt the DM will then take all the credit !)
