I am watching the live coverage and it just seems so bizarre! the last time something like this happened it was at the Munich Olympics, anyone any idea of why these terrorists (taliban I think) would target a foreign cricket team? Is it because there were British nationals on board?

There is a faction in Pakistan that wants all foreigners out. They do not want tourists - and they want a strict Islamic state. Hitting prestige events such as this is intended to stop cultural and sporting exchanges with other countries.

It's the standard approach of the Religion of peace. These nutters want a Taliban Style fundemenatlist state. By attacking high profile visitors they hope to discourage others from visiting so they can ultimately create their loony idea of a state in Pakistan. It's Similar to what happens in Egypt on occasion when tourists are slain. Do not look for logic in their twisted minds.

As far as i am concerned they can shift the borders a bit and include Pakistan, it's not too far away and it's full of Muslims, my intended target. Maybe you would like to go there after the clear up, your geographical knowledge would be very usfull to the returning sand dancers trying to work out where things used to be.
