What if these killers had been shot at and killed or wounded by the soldiers, what then?
Would their actions then have had Brown's full support?
Will the rest of the Regiment still be going to Afghanistan?

Are you creating a hypothetical situation whereby the squaddies may have shot the scumbags, or are you asking what would Brown's reaction have been had the scumbags been shot during Saturday's incident?
Incidentally, the rest of the Engineers have been deployed to Afghanistan. They went yesterday, as would have of course both murdered squaddies had the incident not happened.

What I was trying to compare it with (but no one clicked on to it) was the soldier who was sentenced to life for murder, because he shot and killed a person who had crashed through an army check point.
I can't seem to find a link about this, but I seem to think it happened in Gibraltar.
This link makes for terrifying reading we all hope that it will never get back to this.
