If the Yanks are letting them go, perhaps in view of recent events, we should consider starting up a guantanamo bay type institution ourselves? On an isolated Shetland/Orkney Island for example.
The Afghans don't mess about when they administer justice, so our home grown terrorists should have no cause to complain, if they get banged away in the far North.

Mr Kambaksh was found guilty of blasphemy and sentenced to death last year for circulating an essay on women's rights which questioned verses in the Koran.
It later emerged he was convicted by three mullahs, in secret, without access to a lawyer. The sentence was commuted to 20 years on appeal. At that appeal, in October, the key prosecution witness withdrew his testimony, claiming he had been forced to lie on pain of death.

We hear all this talk about combatting terrorism to protect our way of life. But one of the core principles of that way of life is that of habeas corpus, as it has been for about 800 years.
So... we want to protect our way of life by changing our way of life to resemble the way of life that we we're afraid might replace our way of life.
Right...
