I am almost apoplectic with rage: why can't this man be an EU commissioner just because, as a result of his deeply held religious beliefs, he happens to think homosexuality is wrong?
Granted it is an outdated belief, but it is a belief nonetheless and he should not be hounded out of his job because of it.
What's next, banning meat eaters becuase it upsets the lentil brigade?

Similarly, I do believe that if said Muslim EU commissioner did lop off someone's head on video ... yes, we would indeed have a lot of the British public criticising and casting aspersions upon the the victim.
Why because I say something you don't agree with do you think I'm not being serious? I cannot believe that peopel hold the conventional views I see expressed by most people here, but I do not question their sincerity!
Another ban for yours truly - you might as well edit out oneeyedvic's posting - not because it's offensive, but it makes no sense since my posting to which it refers has gone. Can I ask Ed, or will this be banned for inquisitiveness, do you pore over every posting, or do you wait till somebody contacts you to complain about something?
Must remember to put (joke) after anything which could be construed as offensive - that should do it ... if your name's Bernardo.
[I do tend to look more closely at the posts of certain people. Yes, you are one of them (and you'll be glad to hear, some of the people you disagree with most strongly are also on my little list.) The latest post you refer to was banned because it contained an offensive comment about Muslims. If you don't want to be banned for good, please don't post similar comments again. - AB Editor]
