Those pupils that are so disruptive could be sent to these schools.
These special schools would have all mature male teachers, (preferable ex military or ex police), and would set different lessons from the normal state curriculum.
The end result would be to encourage them to achieve promotion within this school with a view to being returned to a normal school.

Nearly every working day I have to put up with nasty kids on buses in the morning.
On the grounds of Health & safety, for the drivers benefit at least, bring back the Bus Conductor on these buses.
Preferable a 6 foot plus burly male, with the authority to remove the trouble makers off the bus.
Thinking about it a Policeman could be used for this purpose, just as they stand in on school crossing patrols. This would of cause take care of irate parents that complained that their little treasures had been made to find their own way to school or home.

sounds to me like some policy maker has been watching super nanny - naughty step / naughty room ... that being said it may well work, the french have had this sort of policy for years, trouble makers are immediately removed from the room and educated alone or in special groups until they can behave...
This is not a new idea! Why has it taken over 4 years to be implemented?

I thought this happened when I was at school?/
There were special scholls and borstals all over the place?
Perhaps I remember it differently as we had very few disruptive children in our school.
Anyway I think it is an excelent idea. One reason they are unruley is that they have an audience. Take that away and your halfway to getting a better behaved child. Oh sorry young person....

tigger I could not agree with you more about the unruliness on public transport.
They sit with their feet upon the seats, swearing and I would live to walk past and snip their bloody headphone with my nail scissors without them noticing, how would they feel if I inflicted my music on them?
The drivers seem oblivious to it but in defence of the driver, what would he get in return if he had to stop the bus for them and tell them,,,,,,,,,,,thing is they know no one can chastise them, and I suppose if he had to "turf" them off, it would make headlines and he would be the baddie
