how can you be allergic to water when the human body (on average) is 50% water. wouldn't that make them alelrgic to themselves?

i read an article on this. She can't drink water, tea, coffee, juice etc but CAN drink coke....which is flavoured carbonated water. How does that work?

i can't think of a drink or food item that doesnt contain water.

if the others are right and its just the skin that can't touch water, what happens if the food or drink touches her lips.

My husband is allergic to water. If he gets water up his nose, ie when swimming, he starts to sneeze and can't stop for hours. The last time he went swimming, about 8 years ago, he sneezed for 7 hours. After that he decided not to try it again.
That time the dr gave him an inhaler to stop the sneezeing and he was allergic to that and came out in a rash!!!
(It's not funny lol).
