Leanne Salt
Why has my question about Leanne Salt been removed?
http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question74 8124.html
(I Don't know whether I can post a link to a banned question, so it may or may not work!).
As far as I can tell, with the exception of Gromit (quelle surprise), pretty much everybody agrees this beast is an unfit mother.
So why did Nanny AB pull the question?

Anyhoo, my reply on the orginal was going to be something along these lines...
Agree with Ummmm, those calling for those children to be put into care are reacting with a knee jerk reaction.
Yes, she's dicing with her childrens health, but I believe she means well, they look well cared for and obviously loved, which won't necessarily happen in the care of the social services!
Like Ummmm, I believe these young women need educating with regards to childcare. The expression killing them with kindness comes to mind in this particular case, but I genuinely believe, in her own misguided way, she's doing the best for her children.

Gromit - can you be sued for fair comment? (genuine question, I am utterly ignorant of libel laws).
She is grotesquely obese. She is an unfit mother. She is ugly. She is poncing off those of us that are foolish enough to work to pay for her f e ckless lifestyle. She is all of those things, so I fail to see how Nanny AB or Nanny AB's lawyers could get upset.
No really, this ahem 'woman' does not have one single redeeming feature.
BOO says, whilst admitting this beast is dicing with her children's health, that the beast 'means well' and that the children look 'well cared for' - how the hell does feeding 8 month old kids McCrap make them well cared for?
The mind boggles.

In today's Mail there is a report of a 4 year old girl murdered by her mother.
Yes, children should be fed nutritiously balanced meals but there are far far worse things happening to children than this case.
Some of your comments are downright nasty. But it is so very easy to be from the safety of your computer, isn't it?

I don't think 'fair comment' is an acceptable defence (maybe New Judge can tell us), but, you would have to prove that your comments are true. You say she is an 'unfit mother', yet you have not met her and have relied upon a sensationalist report in a newspaper for your information. She may be a very good mother and very loving of her children.
As I pointed out in youyr post which was banned, parents may unwittingly be feeding their young children equally poor diets, breakfast cereals aimed at kids containing more sugar than a bowl of ice cream and more salt than a packet of salted crisps.

There will be many mothers who are also ignorant of the fact they are feeding their children a poor diet, because they have been conned by the manufacturers and supermarkets, are they too 'unfit mothers'?

I said she was dicing with her childrens health yes, and we all know she is, however the important thing to remember, she seems ignorant of that fact.
So surely the solution would be to educate her and the many many many others like her. You are seriously suggesting we take their children into care are you? Or do you have another solution flip_flop?

You have to be very, very careful about calling someone an unfit mother.
If she actually did decide to sue, what you would have to do is show that the chiildren were neglected, or through her action/inaction were unhealthy or mistreated.
Very hard to prove that looking at the kids in the picture.

You are quite Ethel, there are worse things happening to children, but as mty post relates to Leanne Salt, I fail to see the relevance.
Had I said Leanne Salt is commiting the most heinous crime imaginable against children, I could understand your assertion, but as I didn't, I don't.
This thread is about Leanne Salt.
Gromit - I haven't met Nielson, but I am pretty confident in my assertion that he is evil.
I don't think you can compare feeding a child a bowl of cocoa pops to chewing a McDonalds and then feeding the chewed food to an 8 month old. An 8 month old for gawds sake.
Pretty much all sensible parents would be happy to feed a healthy child an occasional bowl of cocoa pops - but I bet none of them would be prepared to feed an 8 month old chewed McDonalds.
Boo - Yes, I am seriously suggesting these children be taken in to care, because they are being subjected to child abuse.

Ridiculous answer - young children generally have unconditional love for their parents, but an 8 month old, whilst recognising their surroundings, doesn't understand the concept of love. They, I'm sure, also understand who feeds them (in this instance Big Macs), but as the parent of a 6 month old (and a 5 year old), trust me on this, a 6 month old will take food from anybody who feeds them.
And you are so wrong it is frightening - condemnation is exactly what this woman needs. She is receiving help, she is receiving 000s of pounds worth of help that she has not earned or contributed to.
This woman has abused herself, which I couldn't give a tinker's cuss about, but she is now also abusing her children - and that is wrong, You can all hand wring all you like, but this is abuse.

It could be argued that the Queen of England is an unfit mother.
The way the children have been brought up (lack of close affection and ecouragement and so on) has had an effect on them
The fact that 3 of them have divorced, and that Charles was having an affair while going ahead with his marriage to Diana, does not show a good happy family life (although I realise there are other pressures on being a member of the royal family).
Just pointing out that plenty of money and status still may not make a person a "good" mother.

this story has just featured on BBC Midlands Today. The children appear to be healthy and about the right weight for their age. The local community has rallied to ms Salt's defence, claiming that the Sun's report was somewhat exaggerated. The mother herself admits that the triplets do taste McDog food, but only in the form of a happy meal between them, and definitely not every day.
Condemnation is not "exactly what this woman needs". Splitting up a family is not what is needed either. Your pathetic try at putting me down has not worked one iota. i couldn't care less what you think of my views. Of course this mother needs help to be shown the right way to do things. She already has love for her children and that goes a long way. You need help also, in showing a bit more compassion instead of a "string er up, take er kids away" attitude.
