Pregnant and in jail?

How is this young lady five months pregnant if she has been in jail since August? Has it been reported or am I just a bit thick?

I think wendillas right w.o.s , it could be one one of the guards in there, but I will never comprehend why these people take risks like this unless it had been planted on her which I would think highly unlikely, given that it was one and a half kilos of heroin she was caught with, I feel sorry for the mum in this country tho' as a mum myself, to see news reports that your daughter may face a firing squad, must be terrifying for her...

Sounds like hell on earth but, as you say, if you are caught and you have been smuggling then you have to appreciate what the consequences are. I think some of these young girls think it's gonna be like Bridget Jones and they'll be out in a week.

Yes, ladies, and were I a cynical sod I'd guess that it happened during a conjugal visit by her supplier to deliberately try to mitigate her sentence!!

Am I mistaken , but wasn't there a similiar case a few years ago when two girls were caught allegedly smuggling banned substances , in some country or other ?

I seem to recall that there was much publicity given to that case and a lot more effort was expended in getting them release .

What is the difference in this case ?

Gosh, who would have thought it? Not some innocent young girl unwittingly caught up in a drug smuggling cartel! Such bad luck! Imagine just happening to be in the wrong place at such an inopportune moment?

And then to inadvertantly fall pregnant whilst incarcerated? Sounds like the immaculate conception to me!

Foreign jails tend to expect the prisoners families to provide for them, this means foreign nationals have to do without many things.
I would say it was "graft" that got her pregnant, just guessing mind.
Naturally she is innocent as there's no such thing as a fair trial abroad involving a British national.

Cultural exchange? Gap year? Interested in Buddhism?

Believe me, I would be the first to condemn the heinous crime of rape - full stop.

And as for "rapes by guards in these hell hole jails", I can only wonder where the proof and evidence has come from? It would not be cynical of me to seek definitive proof of this, would it, instead of rumour, hearsay, innuendo, and media hype? Seriously!
