MPs' Expenses Leak: Tip Of The Iceberg?
Expenses claims by members of the Cabinet, including the PM, being leaked via the Tory newspaper the Daily Telegraph. "More to follow."
Justified? Cynical ploy? Will Cameron & Co also be "exposed"? Can we really go to the polls and trust any political party in the UK not to rip us off?

>public, that's who!
That is a rather stupid comment.
What other option do we have ?
It is MPs from all parties, so whoever we vote for they will all do it.
So suppose we say we are not going to vote. What purpose does that serve?
An MP could get in with just a few hundred votes, making it less democratic.
I am glad the Telegraph has exposed this, as some of these claims are bordering on the criminal.
They certainly move house, or live in certain areas, to maximize the amount they can claim.
Hopefully the public outcry will make them change the way expenses are claimed and paid.
And hopefully the worst culprits will lose their seats in the next election.

When the dust has settled I can't imagine the MPs voting on any proposal that gives them less than the current arrangement. So what's the fuss about current expenses. Corruption means the rules have to be changed so they don't award them money for doing little.
So the only solution is to put them on a par with the rest of us. A payment paid for attendance plus an allowance to cover their travel. Second homes should never exist.

"Nothing illegal has been done" and "Everything within the rules" are phrases that we will hear quite frequently over the next few months in relation to their expenses.
Honest and honourable people do not need rules - certain things go without saying. Any decent person can see that these people are dishonest, dishonourable, lying parasites.
Maybe this trough that they all have their snouts in, is the source of Swine Flu!

Living quarters at number 10 are probably limited - not exactly a family home.
